  • "Successfully Navigating the Tides," Norwegian Cruise Line's communication strategy for entering the Hawai'i market — and handling initial "crisis communications" — will be the topic of a speech Wednesday to a meeting of the International Association of Business Communicators. Speaking will be Robert Kritzman, NCL's executive vice president and managing director of Hawai'i operations.   • A Small Business Administration program that offers free, confidential, half-hour consultations with SBA business-development specialists has been expanded to include several new area banks and an area credit union. Topics at the free consultations, called SBA Resource Day, include available SBA resources, obtaining business loans, business skills training and government contracting programs. Nonbank customers are welcome. The new financial institutions offering the consultations are:

  • Ohana Pacific Bank, the fifth state-chartered bank in Hawai'i, which has scheduled consultations for small-business owners from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 14 at the bank, 1357 Kapi'olani Blvd., Suite 102. Reservations recommended; walk-ins permitted as time allows. Call Kim, 541-3024.
