Washington Place hosts Christmas open house

The annual open house at Washington Place, the historic home of Queen Lili'uokalani and Hawai'i's governors, is set for 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday with musical performances by Hawai'i Opera Theatre and harpist Ruth Freedman.

The second floor will feature a Victorian Christmas tree, and guided tours will show the 159-year-old home's upstairs suite. Visitors must show a picture identification on entry and may be subject to a bag inspection.

On other days, docent-led tours of Washington Place are by appointment. Tours are free, donations are accepted. Call 586-0248.
