Big Island credit union installs remote teller system

Advertiser Staff

CU Hawaii Federal Credit Union has installed a new remote teller system that allows it to serve 14 customer stations at its Ke'eau branch on the Big Island with three tellers instead of the usual 10, according to system maker Diebold Inc.

The system is similar to a drive-through teller window and features a two-way radio and video connection, Diebold said. With it, the credit union can lower labor costs and be more competitive with other credit unions, the company said.

The system at Keeau features four lobby teller sations, four drive-through lanes and six remote teller stations. CU Hawaii will initially have employees in the lobby to assist customers with transactions and using the new remote teller stations.
