HFD assisting hiker in Haha'ione Valley

Fire rescue specialists located a lost hiker tonight in Haha'ione Valley and were assisting him out at 7 p.m.Honolulu Fire Department spokesman Capt. Kenison Tejada said the man called for help at about 6:15 p.m. The hiker started out in Kuli'ou'ou Valley. He was located at 7 p.m. as firefighters maintained cell phone contact with him.
The hiker was not injured, Tejada said.
Fire Rescue 1, HFD's helicopter and a company from the Wailupe station were trying to locate the hiker's companion, who may have walked out on his own, Tejada said.
