Funeral motorcade for fallen officer set for Friday

Advertiser Staff

The Honolulu Police Department is planning a funeral motorcade procession early tomorrow afternoon for Officer Steve Favela that will go from Borthwick Mortuary on Maunakea Street to Vineyard Boulevard to Punchbowl Street to South King Street to Victoria Street and onto South Beretania Street passing in front of the HPD headquarters building.

The motorcade will proceed to Punchbowl Street and the H-1 Freeway to Mililani Memorial Park for burial.

The motorcade is expected to leave the downtown mortuary at 2:10 p.m.

Maunakea Street between Vineyard Boulevard and Kukui Street will be partially closed and street parking restricted from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the funeral. Favela, an HPD motorcycle officer, was killed in a crash while escorting President Bush's motorcade during his recent visit.
