Star Market to close Kane'ohe grocery store next year

Star Markets Ltd. said it will close its Kane'ohe grocery store next year.In a Tuesday letter to the state Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, the local retailer said it plans to close the Kane'ohe outlet sometime after Feb. 5.
Star said the store, located on Kamehameha Highway across from Windward Mall, currently employs 41 workers. The company said it has not yet decided how many of those employees will be retained to work at Star's remaining locations on O'ahu.
