ISLAND LIFE SHORTS
'Territorial Airwaves' hits Web

Advertiser Staff and News Services

TerritorialAirwaves.com is the new Web extension of Harry B. Soria Jr.'s long-running "Territorial Airwaves" vintage Hawaiian music radio show. Soria promises to make the site an ever-growing multimedia archive of the radio program's 28-year history. Log on and you'll find streaming restored and unrestored vintage Hawaiian recordings, old-time radio ads, video, rare photos and memorabilia. One of the best ads? A 1952 radio plug for the 49th State Fair at Sand Island voiced by some dude playing a so un-P.C. but oddly entertaining Tonto, the Lone Ranger's sidekick.

FINAL WORD

"I loved doing Martha (Stewart)'s show, and I loved seeing how big her crew is and how big her kitchen is. But she did have a panty line."
