Advertiser Staff

A high surf advisory remains in effect for northern shores until 6 p.m. Sunday, the National Weather Service said.

The northwest swell that has been hitting the northern shores this week is being reinforced by a new northwest swell.

Surf levels are expected to stay just below warning levels today.

Surf along north shores will be 15 to 20 feet this evening then rise to 20 to 24 feet late tonight and Friday.

West shores will be 6 to 10 feet this morning and rise to 10 to 14 feet today.

Surf along east shores will be 4 to 6 feet and along south shores it will be 1 to 3 feet.

The large northwest swell is expected to continue through the weekend.
