The force will be with local "Star Wars" Stormtroopers John Williams and Tory Laitila of the 501st Legion of Imperial Stormtroopers, Hawai'i Chapter. "Star Wars" creator George Lucas selected them to march in the 118th Tournament of Roses Parade on New Year's Day in Pasadena, Calif.

Lucas will be the parade's grand marshal. Williams and Laitila, representing Hawai'i, are part of a 200-Stormtrooper deployment picked from among more than 3,000 worldwide members of the 501st Legion of Imperial Stormtroopers. Williams is commanding officer, Laitila is the executive officer of the Hawai'i group.
