Record: 28-5, WAC: 15-1 (1st)

National ranking: No. 11, Seed: No. 12

Head coach: Dave Shoji

SCOUTING REPORT: 'BOWS HAVE HAD TOURNEY SUCCESS ON HOME COURT

All-time NCAA tournament record: 60-21

Last week: Hawai'i beat Oregon and Long Beach State in the Long Beach, Calif., subregional. ...

Streaky: The Rainbow Wahine are 32-3 at home in the NCAA tournament. They have won their past 10, dating to the 1999 loss to Texas A&M. ... Hawai'i is making its ninth regional appearance in a row, and has been in all but three of the 26 NCAA Regionals, advancing to the final four eight times. ... The 'Bows have won 15 straight since New Mexico State ended their eight-year WAC winning streak.

Breakdown: Every UH starter earned conference honors. ... Kanoe Kamana'o was WAC Player of the Year a third straight season. The three-time All-American needs 40 assists to move into eighth on the NCAA career list. She is the only player to rank in UH's career top 10 in assists (first), digs (third), blocks (seventh) and aces (ninth). ... Kari Gregory broke the school record for blocks in a three-game match and the rally-scoring record for blocks in a match when she roofed 14 in the first round against Oregon. ... The left-side hitters have 30 double-doubles between them. Sarah Mason has 18. Jamie Houston is sixth in the country at 5.46 kills a game.

Power volleyball: "USC is more like a Big-10 football team," UH coach Dave Shoji said. "They are like, 'We're running this and try to stop us.' They're big and strong and just come at you."

Another life: Hawai'i and Southern California have 10 national titles between them, but the last time they played in the NCAA Tournament was 1982, when the Rainbow Wahine won their second national championship. None of the players in this regional were born then.
