Hanukkah celebrations include dinners, lights

Shaloha Hillel, a Jewish group at the University of Hawai'i, joined the B'nai B'rith service organization for the "Shaloha Chanukkah Celebration" last weekend on the Manoa campus. There were latkes (fried potato pancakes), Israeli dancing, games and the lighting of the menorah. For Jewish people around the Islands, it's the time for the Festival of Lights, which begins at sundown next Friday and continues eight days.
