Man shot at Kailua Zippy's parking lot

Advertiser Staff

A 25-year-old man was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in serious but stable condition early this morning after being shot in the parking lot of the Kailua Zippy's restaurant, according to Emergency Medical Services spokesman Bryan Cheplic.

Paramedics responded to the call on Oneawa Street around 4:30 a.m., Cheplic said. The man was shot in the knee.

Police, who are classifying the case as an attempted murder, said the victim was involved in an argument at a Kailua nightclub earlier in the morning. The shooting was believed to have been done by someone in a silver sports utility vehicle who sped off after the shooting.
