LIHU'E, Kaua'i — A 25-year-old crewman aboard Norwegian Cruise Line's Prince of Hawai'i died Saturday after jumping off a waterfall in the Kipu area west of Lihu'e.

Police said Earnest Webb, of Chicago, Ill., was pulled from the water by others at Kipu Falls, a popular swimming spot. Rescue personnel arrived at the scene about 1:30 p.m. Webb did not respond to cardio-pulmonary resuscitation efforts and was pronounced dead at Wilcox Hospital. An autopsy report has not been released.
