'Unforgettable' Natalie Cole to perform at festival

Natalie Cole is the latest singer to be added to a growing roster of performers in the "Return to Romance" festival slated for March.

Cole, best known for her "Unforgettable" hit with her late father, Nat "King" Cole, will appear in "The Rhythm of Romance" concert at 7 p.m. March 11 at the Blaisdell Arena. Also on the bill: Kenny Loggins, Doobie Brother Michael McDonald and "American Idol" winner Reuben Studdard.

A range of troupers, local and visiting, is being assembled in a variety of programs, fueled by the Matt Catingub Orchestra of Hawai'i's CD "The Most Romantic Songs Ever Written." Among them: Patti Austin, Wayman Tisdale, Kirk Whalum, Peanuts Whalum, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Lucie Arnaz, Nick and Nina Clooney, Na Leo Pilimehana, Keali'i Reichel, Jimmy Borges, Cecilio & Kapono, Robert Cazimero, Rocky Brown, Nina Keali'iwahamana, Jordan Segundo and Amy Hanaiali'i Gilliom.

Concerts will be staged at various venues, including the Hawai'i Theatre and the Waikiki Shell.
