Schofield soldier found guilty in '05 murder

Advertiser Staff

A military court-martial panel today found Army Spc. Jeffery White, 22, guilty of premeditated murder in the death of Spc. Felicia LaDuke on Oct. 7, 2005, a news release said.

Under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, the mandatory minimum sentence for premeditated murder is life with parole, the release from Schofield Barracks said.

The sentencing phase of the court-martial will begin tomorrow at 1 p.m. in the Courtroom on Wheeler Army Airfield, the release said.

Prosecutors said White strangled LaDuke and repeatedly ran her over with her car at a remote spot near Ka'ena Point.

White confessed to the killing, prosecutors told a seven-member military jury.
