'Aiea overpass repair work to close H-1 lanes tonight

Advertiser Staff

The two left west-bound lanes and the left-most east-bound lane of the H-1 Freeway between the Halawa Interchange and Exit 10 Waimalu/Pearlridge off-ramp will be closed tonight between 9 p.m. and 3:15 a.m. for ongoing repair work. The Mahiko Street pedestrian overpass in 'Aiea was damaged Sept. 6 by an oversized load being transported atop an Army flatbed truck.

Contractor Hawaiian Dredging Co. has installed a 120,000-pound, 84-foot-long precast concrete section of the overpass walkway and crews are currently securing the final connections between the two sides.
