Shark sighting closes Kaua'i beach

LIHU'E, Kaua'i — Lifeguards this morning closed a section of Kekaha beach after a 6- to 8-foot whitetip reef shark was spotted in the area.The shark was spotted at a section of the beach called Inters or Intersections. The Kaua'i Ocean Safety Bureau will reopen the beach when county officials believe it is safe.
