Woman accused of ID theft

A 29-year-old woman was arrested after she allegedly stole a car and the identities of four tourists, police said.

The arrest occurred after the woman got into a serious car collision on Sunday in a car that had been reported stolen, police said. While city Emergency Medical Service technicians tended to her injuries, they noticed she had identification cards in her backpack that did not belong to her, police said.

The woman was treated, released and arrested on suspicion of car theft on Monday.

Yesterday, police obtained a search warrant and searched the woman's backpack, police said. Officers found four sets of identification cards and personal checks belonging to tourists.

The woman was arrested on suspicion of unauthorized possession of confidential personal information.

Woman reports rape in parking lot

Police are looking for a man who allegedly raped a 21-year-old woman in a parking lot.

A woman told police yesterday that a man his 50s raped her in the parking lot of a Waipio shopping center Sunday night between 10-10:30 p.m.

Police are investigating.

Bank robber on the lam

Police are looking for a 43-year-old woman who allegedly robbed a Makiki bank yesterday.

At 2:41 p.m., the woman walked into the bank wearing wire-framed glasses, a large white hat, a grey long-sleeved sweatshirt and long pants.

She passed a note to the teller stating that she had a gun and that there was an accomplice waiting nearby who was ready to react if the teller did not cooperate, police said.

The woman fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

Rowdy park-goer assaulted

Police are looking for a man who allegedly assaulted a 29-year-old man who was drinking and making noise in a public park, police said.

At 11:56 a.m. yesterday, the 29-year-old and some friends were in a Mililani park drinking and listening to music, police said. The man was walking by and confronted the 29-year-old about the noise, police said.

The man then punched the 29-year-old as he sat in his car, police said. The victim got out, but the man clubbed him with a blunt object, police said.

The man fled the scene and is wanted on suspicion of breaking into a car and first-degree assault.
