Plenty of surf today, but be careful out there
Advertiser Staff
The north-facing shores of O'ahu will see the surf build to 12 to 16 feet this morning, then diminish a bit this afternoon, to 8 to 12 feet, according to the National Weather Service.
Elsewhere, expect surf of 5 to 10 feet this morning, subsiding to 4 to 8 feet later this afternoon along west-facing shores; 3 to 6 feet along east-facing shores; and 1 to 3 feet along south-facing shores.
Swells will roll in from around the compass this week. Surf along north facing shores will begin decreasing below advisory level of 15 feet this afternoon, then another smaller north northwest swell will arrive Friday.
Strong trade winds will generate very large and rough surf along east-facing shores Friday through the weekend with surf likely exceeding the 8 foot advisory level.
In addition, an out-of-season south swell will arrive Sunday and last through Tuesday.
