Hawai'i unemployment claims rise 4% in latest week

Initial jobless claims filed in Hawai'i rose by 4 percent in the week ended Dec. 9 compared to the similar period a year earlier, according to state Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism data.There were 1,039 initial claims filed last week. Hawai'i's unemployment rate is among the lowest in the United States.
