Wind dominates weather today
Advertiser Staff
The weather on O'ahu today, and across the state, can be described with a single word windy.
A high pressure area north of the islands is moving off to the east and leaving gusty trade winds in its wake.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service said the winds could gust up to 50 mph in some areas.
A high wind advisory remains until 6 p.m. today.
What rain showers there are today will favor windward and mauka areas, but the strong winds will blow some of the rain into leeward areas as well.
The winds will ease on Saturday, leaving moderate trades for the start of the new week, forecasters said.
