Police computers go down for 25 minutes

Advertiser Staff

Honolulu Police officers were left without a valuable tool for about 25 minutes this morning after computerized files containing warrant, vehicle registration and driver's license information crashed.

Police officers contact dispatchers to check on these types of information whenever a traffic stop is made.

The computer files went down about 1:25 a.m. and were brought back online by about 1:50 a.m.

Police dispatchers yesterday returned from the Kapolei Police Station to their newly remodeled offices at the Police Headquarters Building on Beretania Street.
