Honolulu Fire Department promotes three

The Honolulu Fire Department is scheduled to hold a promotion ceremony at 8:30 a.m. Monday in the HFD Headquarters Auditorium to recognize two newly promoted assistant fire chiefs and a battalion fire chief.
Newly promoted Assistant Fire Chief Eric L. Adams Jr. has been assigned to planning and development and is responsible for overseeing the fire department's accreditation and certification, strategic planning, grants, records management and developing/revising of programs based on continuous organizational analysis. He has been with the department for 30 years. Adams served six years as a battalion chief, two in the fire communications center and the last four in fire operations in Leeward O'ahu.
Newly promoted Assistant Fire Chief Rolland J. Harvest has been assigned to fire operations and is responsible for overseeing the fire department's daily field and emergency operations. Harvest has been with the department for 24 years, the last four as a battalion chief in fire operations in Leeward O'ahu.
Newly promoted Battalion Fire Chief Jerry K. Spencer has been assigned to the fire department's Occupational Safety and Health Office and is responsible for overseeing safety and health issues. Spencer has served 31 years with the department, the last 11 as a fire captain in the field and in the Administrative Services Bureau. He has also served as a relief public-information officer.
