Advertiser Staff

Alex Anderson scored 18 points and converted a key layup in the final minutes as Chattanooga fended off Hawai'i, 65-62, in the Paradise Classic title game tonight at the Stan Sherriff Center.

Anderson's layup extended the Lady Mocs' lead to 65-59 with 1:52 left.

Hawai'i's Pam Tambini hit a 3-pointer from the top of the key to cut the deficit to 65-62 with 1:01 remaining, and Janevia Taylor missed a desperation 3 from the top of the key under pressure by Anderson that would have tied the game with 4 ticks left.
