Accident near Hickam exit sends woman to hospital

A 29-year-old woman was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in serious condition following a two-car accident on the exit that leads from the east-bound lanes of the H-1 Freeway to Hickam Air Force Base.
The first car hit the median barrier and subsequently was hit by a second car at about 5:10 a.m.
When the second car hit the first, it reportedly caused a door on the first car to fly off striking the woman, who had already gotten out of her damaged car, said Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the city Emergency Services Department.
