MANOA GUIDES NEEDED — Volunteer guides needed for garden and heiau tours at Manoa Heritage Center. Mandatory training sessions start Jan. 20; contact Susan Lessa at 988-1287.

RESTORE WILD PLACES — Ka'ala Farm Inc. is seeking groups to assist in floral restoration of five west O'ahu sites — in Kalaeloa, Nanakuli, Wai'anae, Makaha and Makua. Groups should be willing to commit to two to 12 volunteer days a year. Contact Bruce Koebele at 696-4954 or holopono@pixi.com.

WEED & POT CLUB — Maui Nui Botanical Garden's Weed & Pot Club meets 8:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesdays at 150 Kanaloa Ave. in Kahului to work on nursery plants and perform other tasks. Tools, gloves and drinking water provided; bring sunscreen, wear shoes.

KANAHA POND — Join Native Hawaiian Plant Society volunteers at Kanaha Pond Wildlife Sanctuary 7:30-11 a.m. Thursdays for weeding and brush cutting; work also done at Maui Ocean Land Trust wetlands. (808) 572-6338.

LIMAHULI GARDEN HELPERS — Limahuli Garden & Preserve of the National Tropical Botanical Garden in Ha'ena, Kaua'i, seeks volunteers 8-11 a.m. Thursdays to help restore native Hawaiian forest.
