UH's Brennan given award for nation's top passer

University of Hawai'i quarterback Colt Brennan has won the 2006 Sammy Baugh Award, the Touchdown Club of Columbus, Ohio, and UH announced this morning.The award has been presented to the nation's top passer since 1959. Brennan won out over last year's winner, Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn of Notre Dame.
Past winners include John Elway, Steve Young and Daunte Culpepper.
Brennan, a redshirt junior from Irvine, Calif.,is threatening to break the NCAA single-season record for touchdown passes.
Brennan is scheduled to receive the award Feb. 10, 2007 at the Touchdown Club's 52nd Annual Sports Banquet.
