Forecast calls for delightful — not frightful — weather

Mother Nature must be in the holiday spirit if the National Weather Service's forecast holds true.

Fine weather is expected this week, with even windward and mauka showers being very limited after today and light to moderate trade winds becoming light and variable by Thursday.

Today, however, the National Weather Service is calling for some windward and mauka showers in the morning before clearing this afternoon. Highs should be 70 to 77 and east winds will be 10 to 15 mph.

Tonight, expect scattered showers, lows 62 to 71 and east winds 10 to 15 mph.

Tomorrow will be mostly sunny with isolated showers, highs 73 to 80 and east winds 10 to 15 mph.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 73 to 80. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Wednesday night: Partly cloudy in the evening then becoming mostly cloudy. Scattered showers. Lows 60 to 69. East winds around 10 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.

Thursday: Mostly sunny. Isolated showers in the afternoon. Highs 73 to 80. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Thursday night: Partly cloudy in the evening then becoming mostly cloudy. Scattered showers. Lows 61 to 70. South winds around 10 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.
