Woman arrested, questioned over theft scheme

A 27-year-old Makaha woman was arrested for questioning Saturday in connection with a scheme to steal from people lured to Makua cave in Wai'anae for photo opportunities.

The woman was booked for second-degree theft and detaining stolen property and later released pending further investigation.

According to complaint to police, a woman victim said her designer bag and wallet containing cash were stolen from her car by accomplices of the woman who allegedly offered to take photos of her at the cave.
