  • Anne Deschene has been named executive vice president of the Hawaii Association of Realtors. Deschene, most recently, had been president and chief executive officer of the Better Business Bureau of Hawaii and its foundation for 14 years. Before that, she was vice president of the Blood Bank of Hawaii, and operations manager, program and news director for Mauna Kea Broadcasting Co. The Hawaii Association of Realtors is the state's largest trade association, representing more than 10,000 members across the state involved in all aspects of the residential and commercial real estate industries.

  • Outrigger Enterprises Group has promoted Steve Winter to vice president-operations for the Outrigger Condominium Collection, a special resort and vacation ownership product line of fully furnished deluxe resort condominiums in both well-known resorts and unique "out-of-the-way" locations. Previously, Winter was regional director of operations-O'ahu and general manager for Outrigger Luana Waikiki. In his new position, Winter oversees all operations and management of the collection.

  • Matt Smith, most recently assistant corporate controller with Alexander & Baldwin, has joined the management team of The Gas Co. in a newly created position of director of financial reporting. Responsibilities will include financial reporting, budgeting and analysis, consolidations and finance-related research, as well as preparing Securities and Exchange Commission filings, cash forecasting and monitoring internal control compliance. The Gas Co., the state's only full-service gas energy company, provides gas energy and related services to 67,000 commercial and residential customers on O'ahu, the Big Island, Maui, Kaua'i, Moloka'i and Lana'i. Also, Kenneth Yamamoto has been named vice president of human resources at the company. He will oversee all human resources activities, including employment, employee relations, benefits, compensation and human resources information systems.

  • P.F. Chang's Hawaii has appointed Ronald "Will" Henry and Stefan Arai as sous chefs at the new P.F. Chang's China Bistro located on the ground floor of the Hokua luxury condominiums on Ala Moana Boulevard in the Ward Center area.

  • Maryl Group continues to add new staff as the growing company takes on multi-island projects. Among the new hirees are: Big Island, Kale Schulte, who has joined the Kukio Beach House project team as Maryl Construction's project engineer; O'ahu, James Ching, Maryl Pacific Construction's new assistant superintendent for the Kapolei Spectrum II project, and Michael Rose, project manager; Ivan Sakamoto, Maryl Pacific Construction's new design/build manager in Honolulu; Ricky Wakayama, Maryl Pacific Construction's new superintendent for the Kapolei Spectrum Phase II project on O'ahu; and Michelle Swartman, who has joined Maryl Group Kauai Operations team as assistant project manager of all Kaua'i projects.
