The holidays are jolly but they can produce a lot of waste. Reduce yours with these tips from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency:

Bring reusable cloth bags for holiday gift shopping. Tell store clerks you don't need a bag for small or oversized purchases.

Send recycled-content greeting cards. Remember to recycle any paper cards you receive.

Turn off holiday lights during the day.

Make simple bows from printed, colorful ribbon and pin them to your curtains or tie them around door knobs.
