Three longtime city firefighters promoted to chief positions

Honolulu Fire Chief Kenneth Silva has announced the promotions of Eric L. Adams Jr. and Rolland J. Harvest to assistant chief, and Jerry K. Spencer to battalion chief.

Adams will be responsible for overseeing the department's accreditation and certification, strategic planning, grants, and records management. Harvest has been assigned to daily field and emergency operations.

Spencer will be with the occupational safety and health office.

Adams is a 30-year HFD veteran. Harvest has been a Honolulu firefighter for 24 years and Spencer for 31 years.
