Nielsen ratings out for local news programs

The latest Nielsen TV ratings have been released.At 6 p.m., KHON with anchor Joe Moore earned a 14 rating, up from 13 a year ago. The rating reflects the percentage of households in the market watching a particular program.
KGMB's 6 p.m. news earned a 7 rating, static from last year.
KITV earned a 5 rating, static from last year.
KHNL earned a 3 rating, dropping one percentage point from November 2005.
KGMB's 10 p.m. newscast bypassed KHON's program for the No. 1 slot in the latest ratings. The CBS affiliate logged a 10 rating. That was up from 9 a year ago.
KHON, the Fox station, slipped from 9 to 8 in late-night news.
KITV, the ABC affiliate, earned a 5 rating, down 1 point from last year.
KHNL, the NBC affiliate, earned a 4, down 1 from last year.
Moore anchors the sole locally produced world-news program at 5:30 p.m., and in this time slot, his news show on KHON led the pack with an 8 rating, up from 7.
The "CBS Evening News with Katie Couric" on KGMB earned a 6 rating, up from 5.
ABC's program, anchored by Charles Gibson on KITV, also earned a 6 rating, up from 5.
NBC's show with Brian Williams was flat on KHNL, with a 3 rating.
At 5 p.m., KHON earned an 8 rating, up from 6.
KGMB earned a 6 rating, up from 5.
KITV earned a 6 rating, static from last year at this time.
KHNL earned a 3 rating, up from 2.
The November sweeps, when the ratings are calculated, cover the period between Nov. 2 and Nov. 29. Ratings are also determined in February and May, with stations setting advertising rates depending on their market standing.
