Martin scores 33 as Hilo wins in OT

Michael Martin scored 33 points, including 10 in overtime, as host Hawai'i-Hilo beat Arkansas-Monticello, 83-72, yesterday in a men's basketball game.

Martin, who also grabbed nine rebounds, scored on a jumper, two 3-pointers and a dunk to help the Vulcans (3-7) outscore the Boll Weevils (4-3) 15-4 in OT.

Nate Newell scored 25 points, but shot just 2 of 14 from 3-point range for Arkansas-Monticello.

ELSEWHERE

MISSOURI WESTERN 91, HAWAI'I PACIFIC 49

Inga Buzoka scored 21 points to lead the Griffons (8-0) past the Sea Warriors (0-9), who were led by Ashley Jenkins' 20 points.

CENTRAL WASHINGTON 75, BRIGHAM YOUNG-HAWAI'I 73 (OT)

Hana Hull scored 29 points and Ashley Fenimore hit a jumper with 6.5 seconds left in overtime as the Wildcats (9-1) beat the Seasiders (2-6). Latoya Wily had 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead BYUH.
