Rainbow Wahine No. 9 in final volleyball poll

Hawai'i, which upset Southern California in an NCAA Volleyball Championship regional semifinal, is ninth in the final CSTV/AVCA Top 25 Coaches Poll — one behind the Trojans.

The Rainbow Wahine's season ended at 29-6 when they lost to UCLA (33-4) in the regional final here Dec. 9. Hawaii was seeded 12th in the NCAA Tournament and upset fifth-seeded USC a night earlier, ending the Trojans' season at 27-5.

Nebraska (33-1) beat Stanford (30-4) for the national title Saturday. Those teams are 1-2 in the final poll, followed by UCLA, Washington, Penn State, Minnesota and Texas.
