Big Island man recovering after shooting

HILO, Hawai`i — A 32-year-old man was hospitalized in guarded condition with a gunshot wound after shots were fired in the old industrial area of Kailua, Kona, police said.

Police were called to a report of shots fired in the area at 10:11 p.m. yesterday, and arrested two men at the scene. Both were being held pending further investigation, and the case has been classified as an attempted murder.

The shooting victim was taken to the Kona Community Hospital.

Police that ask anyone who witnessed the shooting or who has any additional information call the police non-emergency number at 935-3311.
