Council revives move to vote on transit

Advertiser Staff

The City Council is again considering a final transit vote today.

The council voted at 3:30 p.m. to reconsider action taken earlier today to postpone a decision until next week.

City Councilwoman Barbara Marshall moved to take back the earlier deferral after hearing testimony from many of the 130 individuals signed up to address the issue.

A new proposal from Councilwoman Ann Kobayashi had threatened to postpone the historic vote on the $4.6 billion project.

Kobayashi said she would withdraw that proposal after hearing from many who said they favored the "green line" through Kalaeloa rather than a modified route she was proposing that ran partway on the yellow line along Farrington Highway and part on the green line.
