UH tops Nebraska in to reach Classic final

Matt Lojeski scored 17 points to lead Hawaii to an 81-72 win over Nebraska in the semifinals of the Rainbow Classic on Friday night.

Ahmet Gueye had 16 points and 11 rebounds for Hawaii (7-4) and Bobby Nash added 11 points.

Ryan Anderson led Nebraska (7-3) with 29 points and Charles Richardson added 13.

Hawaii faces Creighton for the Rainbow Classic championship Saturday night.

Friday, Hawaii scored the first eight points of the game and took an early 23-10 lead.

The Rainbow Warriors led 43-23 at halftime.

Nebraska used full court pressure late in the game to close to within nine, 72-63.

But Hawaii made nine-of-12 free throws in the final two minutes to hold on to the victory.

Nebraska coach Doc Sadler was ejected after picking up his second technical foul with 5:13 remaining in the first half.
