"With thousands of school children on their holiday break, we're extending the operating hours at Department of Parks and Recreation facilities to provide more recreational opportunities," said Hannemann. "This is the first time the department is making this holiday adjustment, as part of our administration's efforts to better serve the community."

Park facilities will be closed on Christmas and New Year's Day.
