Major UH, NFL games absent from Hawai'i TV today

Advertiser Staff

Two games Hawai'i TV fans won't be seeing on basic TV today are the NFL game and the University of Hawai'i basketball game.

The NFL game between Kansas City and Oakland will be telecast on the NFL Network, which is not carried by Oceanic cable. The game will be available to those with Dish Network.

According to an Oceanic spokesperson, "upper level" negotiations are ongoing between Time Warner and the NFL.

Kickoff for the Chiefs-Raiders game is 3 p.m.

The UH men's basketball game against Creighton for the Rainbow Classic title will be telecast on pay-per-view. The previous days' games were telecast on K5.

The UH game is scheduled to tip off at 7:30 p.m. and is preceded by the third-place game between Houston and Nebraska (also on pay-per-view).
