Man drowns in pool on Big Island

A 44-year-old man drowned this morning at the Pahoa community swimming pool.Big Island Fire Capt. Alex Almeida said when firefighters arrived at the pool about 9:20 a.m., a lifeguard was performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the victim.
The man, a resident of the Big Island, was pronounced dead at the Hilo Medical Center.
His identity was not released.
