Record-holder Klingler wished Brennan luck

Advertiser Staff

David Klingler wished University of Hawai'i quarterback Colt Brennan "good luck" today in the quest to break Klingler's 16-year old NCAA record for single-season touchdown passes.

Brennan had needed two TD passes in today's Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl game against Arizona State to surpass Klingler's mark of 54 set with Houston in 1990.

Brennan broke the record, finishing the game with 58 season touchdown passes in a victory over Arizona State, 41-27.

Klingler conveyed the sentiments in an e-mail to The Honolulu Advertiser today.

Klingler also had set his record against Arizona State.
