Kane'ohe Marine killed in Iraq on Christmas Eve

A Kane'ohe Marine was killed in Iraq Sunday while conducting combat operations, the Department of Defense announced today.Lance Cpl. Stephen L. Morris, 21, of Lake Jackson, Texas, died on Christmas Eve in Al Anbar province, Iraq. Morris was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Kane'ohe Bay, Hawai'i.
The fatality marks the 19th for the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment since late September — an increase over most deployments by Hawai'i Marines to the same region of Iraq.
