WAILUKU, Maui — Maui County Mayor-elect Charmaine Tavares has named Sheri Morrison as managing director, the No. 2 post in the administration.

Morrison has been an executive assistant and policy analyst to Tavares on the County Council.

Prior to that, she was budget director for Mayor Alan Arakawa, who was defeated by Tavares in the November election.

The mayor-elect will take office Tuesday.

Tavares also named Francis Kau as first assistant to the managing director, Deidre Tegarden as economic development coordinator and C. Mahina Martin as public information officer.
