Officials to announce new medevac service O`ahu

Advertiser Staff

A plan to continue the aero-medical transportation services on O'ahu will be announced tomorrow by state and the U.S. Army officials at Wheeler Army Airfield.

Since April 1, 2006 the service has been performed by the Hawaii National Guard Company C, 1st. Battalion, 207th Aviation (C, 1/207), based in Hilo, Hawaii. The unit will stop providing the service to begin training for a deployment to Iraq.

The announcement will be made by state adjutant general Maj. Gen. Robert G.F. Lee, and U.S Army Pacific Deputy Commander, Maj. Gen. William H. Brandenburg.
