Advertiser Staff

A 31-year-old Hawai'i Kai man was arrested Sunday night at Honolulu International Airport in connection with two alleged assault incidents.

On Dec. 14, the man and his 41-year-old wife got into an argument after which he hit his wife with his car, causing minor injuries, police said. Two days later, the couple got into another argument, during which the man choked his wife, police said.

The man reportedly left town for business and returned Christmas Eve. Police were waiting for him at the airport and arrested the man on suspicion of felony abuse of a household member.

A 50-year-old man was arrested Monday night after he allegedly broke into his girlfriend's apartment and assaulted her, police said.

At 10:30 p.m. Monday, police responded to a burglary call in the Waipahu area. A 38-year-old woman told police her boyfriend showed up drunk and broke glass louvers to get into her apartment, then hit and choked her.

Responding officers arrested the man on suspicion of first-degree burglary, felony abuse of a household member and criminal property damage in the fourth degree.
