Waves 15-20 feet and headed down

Advertiser Staff

Wave heights on O'ahu's North Shore were about 15 to 20 feet at 10 p.m., the National Weather Service said.

They were likely to remain that way through the night before beginning to decline, said Wes Browning, a forecaster with the weather service.

Buoy measurements off Kaua'i indicated that the swell had already begun subsiding, he said.

Though high-surf warnings remained in effect, no problems had been reported to fire or police regarding high surf by 10 p.m.
