Absconder arrested on Big Island

Advertiser Staff

Big Island police arrested 26-year-old Jeremy Lee Jacober in Kailua-Kona on Wednesday at 7:30 a.m. He was taken into custody without incident.

Jacober had been sought after absconding from his home detention. He had been serving 120 days of home detention for a misdemeanor conviction. During this period of home confinement, he was to be monitored electronically at the Hawaii Intake Service Center of the Department of Public Safety.

Upon learning of a change in his living arrangements on Sept. 21, 2006, Intake Service Center staff ordered Jacober to report to their office immediately, but he failed to do so.
