Partly sunny skies, showers today and tomorrow

Easterly trade winds are pushing moisture back across the islands and will keep windward and mauka areas from Kaua'I to Maui wet through most of the day, the National Weather Service said.

Moderate trade winds and drier trade wind weather will dominate tomorrow through the midweek.

Today will be partly sunny with scattered showers, highs 71 to 79 with northeast winds 10 to 15 mph and a 50 percent chance of rain.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy with scattered showers, lows 61 to 69 and east winds 10 to 15 mph.

Tomorrow: Mostly sunny with isolated showers, highs 72 to 80, east winds 10 to 15 mph and the chance of rain is 20 percent.

Sunday: Mostly sunny with isolated showers, highs 72 to 79, east winds 10 to 15 mph with a 20 percent chance of rain.

New Year's Day: Partly sunny with isolated showers, highs 72 to 80. East winds 10 to 15 mph and a 20 percent chance of rain.
