Advertiser Staff

Honolulu authorities are investigating the deaths of two men, approximately the same age, found in shoreline waters in separate O'ahu locations today.

According to Bryan Cheplic, Emergency Medical Services spokesman, the first death involved a man believed to be in his late 30s or early 40s who was found early today in the surf off Kapahulu Groin, near a popular Waikiki body-boarding spot known as The Wall.

EMS personnel pronounced that man dead shortly after 5:15 a.m., said Cheplic.

The second death involved a 37-year-old man found in the waters off White Plains Beach in Kalaeloa. Cheplic said EMS pronounced that man dead at around 3:20 p.m.

The city medical examiner's office had not released the identities of either man or the causes of death. Police are continuing to investigate.
